About Us

Many things were born in 1925; Dick Van Dyke, Chrysler, Paul Newman… and the Kings Langley Players. In that year, local theatre lover John Kingston brought the Kings Langley Players to life in what was then the Kings Langley Village Hall (still standing today as the Church House).

Since then, the Players have been at the heart of theatre in the local community, with almost 400 shows under our belt, from drama to comedy through panto and music hall.

1950 saw us move to the Community Centre, where we still perform today – though it’s better known these days as the Theatre@TheNap when we’re in residence!

In the 70s our members built our very own studio space brick by brick, just yards from the theatre. To this day it still houses the majority of our costumes, props, furniture and sets, which supply many local groups as well as our own.

Today we perform four shows a year; three at the Theatre@TheNap, and one as part of a thriving relationship with the Kings Langley Services Club. We’re proud to champion innovative productions, new writing and first-time directors, and to welcome any and all new members with open arms and a smile.

That’s why, with the Kings Langley Players, it’s “always a good show”!
